Soda City Adventure Races : Columbia, SC
The Soda City Adventure Races are multi-sport, navigation-focused events held at Segra Park Baseball Stadium, 1640 Freed Street in Columbia, SC. Two race formats are offered:
- 5 Miles - The Soda City Oddity
- 40 Miles - The Soda City Odyssey
Both formats use a checkpoint-based rogaine scoring system where teams earn points by visiting checkpoints within a time limit. Courses combine biking, trekking, and water travel with multiple route options in each discipline. The Oddity is an urban adventure rally designed to be approachable for families and first-time adventure racers, and typically includes short water segments, several miles of trekking, and multiple miles of biking. The Odyssey is a 12-hour endurance event with a larger checkpoint menu, more route combinations, and options for solo and team divisions.
Racers receive a pre-race briefing and attention to safety, with timing and results tracking provided. Course design is scalable during the race so teams can select higher-value checkpoints or shorter connections based on ability and energy.
