Jamestown Lakefest Mike Hill Running Events
The Jamestown Lakefest Mike Hill 10k is a historic road race established in 1976. This event was originally created to be part of the bicentennial celebration and has remained a consistent feature of the local community. For several decades, the event was known as the Lakefest 10k, but it was renamed in 2007 to honor one of its founding organizers.
Participants can choose between two different distances for this event:
- 10k course (6.2 miles)
- 5k course (3.1 miles)
The race is held in Jamestown, Kentucky, with the central location established at Monument Square. Participants can collect their registration materials the evening before the race at the Jamestown Christian Church Levee, which is located just past the local courthouse. The event requires pre-registration, which opens at the end of December and concludes in late May.
This competition is a long-standing tradition in the region, having expanded from its original single-distance format to provide multiple options for runners. The event takes place on July 4th and serves as a central component of the broader Lakefest festivities in the community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
