The 57th Annual Jambalaya Festival 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run takes place in Gonzales, Louisiana. The event is held at the new location of the Lamar Dixon Expo Center on S. St. Landry Ave.

A combined option to Run the 5K and the 1 Mile

For the team competition, teams consist of three members, with a captain creating the team name.

Course and Perks

The course is described as flat and fast. The run and a subsequent after-party are held on the grounds of the Lamar Dixon Expo Center. Entrants receive a free T-shirt and free jambalaya at the after-party, which features music and a party atmosphere. T-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after May 15, 2026.

Registration and Logistics

Registration is open to ages 1-99. Packet pickup occurs on race day starting at 7:00 AM at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center. Registration fees are listed as $25 for the 5K, $15 for the 1 Mile, and $30 for both events.

Awards

Awards are given for multiple categories. For the 1 Mile Fun Run, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals are awarded to male and female participants overall and in age categories 1-4, 5-10, and 11-15. For the 5K, awards are given to the top overall male and female, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in various age groups from 9 & under to 70+.
