48th Annual Jack Gamble Melon Run : July 4, 2026
The event is a community road race held in Gainesville on July 4, 2026 at Westside Park, 1001 NW 34th Street, Gainesville, FL 32605. The main distance is a rolling three mile course that includes age group awards in 10 year increments; the top three in each age group receive a watermelon. Post race refreshments include additional watermelon.
Additional activities include a free half mile kids run and the crowning of a Melon Run King and Queen after the races. Parking is available in the large lot on the west side of the park off NW 34th Street. Bib pick up is located in front of the pool near the finish area on the east side of the park.
Registration details note a tank top option available only if selected by June 19, 2026. Prices vary with tank top options and increase after June 19 and again after June 27. Race day registration is available online through race morning; in person registration, paper forms, and in person payments are not available. Florida Track Club members receive a local race discount. Annual membership rates are listed for individual, family, student, and senior categories.
