48th Annual Melon Run
The event takes place on July 4, 2026 at Westside Park in Gainesville, Florida, with the listed address 1001 NW 34th Street, Gainesville FL 32605. The main race is a 3 miles course described as rolling hills and finishes with a slice of watermelon and other post race refreshments.
Age group awards are given in 10 year increments and age group winners receive a watermelon. Additional activities include a free half mile kids run and the crowning of a Melon Run King and Queen after the races.
There are two registration options for the 3 miles race: an option that includes a race tank top and a no tank top option. Register by June 19 at 11:59 PM to select a race tank top. Youth pricing for those 12 and under is shown separately with a lower fee for the no tank option.
Race day logistics note that bib pick up begins at 7:00 AM in front of the pool on the east side of the park. Parking is available in the large lot on the west side of the park off NW 34th Street. Race day registration is online only through 7:30 AM on race morning; there is no in person registration assistance, no paper forms, and no in person payments.
