Hosted by the Evan Granville Memorial Fund, the race serves as a community gathering that supports the Hamburg Central School District. The event provides funding for various school clubs, sports, and activities within the district. It also marks the season-ending run for participants of the Bulldog Run Club.

The event features a single distance:

The course is USATF certified and takes place on the streets of the Village of Hamburg. Both the start and finish lines are located on Union Street. Participants follow a certified route that concludes near Union Pleasant Elementary School.

Registration includes an official event t-shirt for those who sign up by the designated deadline in late May. Following the run, an awards ceremony is held at a tent located at the elementary school. Trophies are awarded to the first place overall male and female finishers, and medals are provided for top performers in various age categories ranging from 6 and under to 70 and over.

The race utilizes Jaguar Electronic RFID timing for real-time results. Participants can access their performance data and download custom finisher certificates online. Practical amenities include free parking at the Union Pleasant Elementary lot on Hawkins Avenue and the local municipal parking lot nearby.
