Island Vines 10K, 5K & Youth Fun Run
Island Vines is an annual road race produced at Snow Farm Vineyard in South Hero, Vermont. The event includes a 10-kilometer run, a 5-kilometer run or walk, and a half-mile kids fun run around the vineyard. The 10K and 5K use out-and-back courses on West Shore Road. The first and last mile of the courses have gently rolling hills while the middle section is mostly flat. For the 10K there are water stations near the two and four mile marks.
Included with 10K and 5K entry are chip timing at the finish, courses measured to USATF certification standards, a commemorative stemless glass for finishers, food trucks and beverage tickets, and post-race entertainment from a Vermont-based singer-songwriter. Awards are given in the 10K and 5K in overall and age categories including first through third overall for female and male, first nonbinary, and masters awards. A surprise local syrup item is also part of awards.
Bibs may be picked up at a local pickup location in Burlington in the days before the event and at Snow Farm Vineyard on race day. All participants must be registered and must sign the race waiver. Baby joggers and strollers are not permitted during the races, though dogs and strollers are allowed at the venue. Race proceeds support RunVermont youth programming and C.I.D.E.R., an organization that provides services and resources for Grand Isle County residents, with a focus on elders and people with disabilities.
