About the race
The Island Triathlon Festival & Haze Stockton Sunrise Run is a two-day event held in Stockton near Newcastle on the fourth weekend in September. Events take place from Stockton Park, east of the ferry station at the corner of Mitchell St and Wharf Crest.
The weekend includes a foreshore running event and a dedicated triathlon day. The running programme on Saturday offers three distances and follows a flat coastal course along the Stockton foreshore. Sunday is triathlon day with several multisport options including full triathlon formats and swim-bike or swim-run variations.
Distances and event types:
- Half Marathon, 14 km, 7 km run options along the foreshore
- Standard triathlon and Aquabike (Swim - Cycle)
- Sprint triathlon and Super Sprint triathlon
- Aquathlon (Swim - Run)
Entries close the day before each event unless sold out; a late entry fee applies from two weeks before race day. Transfers to another person are possible through the entry portal for a $10 fee. All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Overall male and female winners receive prizes; age group medals are not awarded to reduce waste.
