About the race
The Island Triathlon Festival takes place in Stockton NSW over the weekend of Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September 2026 at Griffiths Park near the ferry terminal. The event features running, triathlon and aquathlon racing on flat foreshore courses with coastal views and a looped 7.04 km running circuit used for multiple distances.
Saturday is the Haze Stockton Sunrise Run with distance options:
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon) - three laps of the 7.04 km loop
- 14 km - two laps of the 7.04 km loop
- 7 km - one lap of the 7.04 km loop
- 2 km fun run for children (not timed)
Sunday hosts triathlon and aquathlon events with these formats:
- Standard Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle, 10 km run
- Standard Aquabike: 1500 m swim, 40 km cycle
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km cycle, 5 km run
- Sprint Aquabike: 750 m swim, 20 km cycle
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 250 m swim, 10 km cycle, 2.5 km run
- Aquathlon: 750 m swim, 5 km run
Race kit collection is available on the days before and on event mornings. The ferry to Stockton runs from Newcastle and the event funds a special early Sunday ferry service; the crossing takes about six minutes and is a paid service. Parking is limited near the compound and some traffic routing applies on Sunday. Refunds follow a tiered policy with 70% up to six weeks prior, 40% from six weeks to 14 days, and no refunds less than 14 days before the event.
