Island Spring Half Marathon
The Island Spring Half Marathon serves as the kickoff event for the Island Race Series and functions as a fundraiser for the Alameda Hospital Foundation. The event base is located at Faction Brewery at Alameda Point, with the courses featuring a flat and fast profile.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K Run
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run (open to ages 12 and under)
The routes showcase various landmarks on the west end of Alameda, including coastal trails, the USS Hornet, and local parks. The 10K Run is recognized as part of the USATF 10K circuit. For those interested in multiple events, runners who complete both this event and the Island Festival Half Marathon in September are eligible for a custom "half and half" hoodie.
Following the races, the event includes a post-race expo featuring music and food. Age group winner awards are also presented. Packet pick-up is available in the days leading up to the race at Lauren's Closet on Park Street, and on-site registration is available the morning of the event at City Hall West.
