Island Lake Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquabike - Brighton MI
Epic Races presents a multisport event on June 5, 2027, at Island Lake State Recreation Area, Kent Lake Beach, 6301 Kensington Rd., Brighton, Michigan. The park covers about 4,000 acres and combines open brush land, mature hardwood forest, and pockets of open meadows.
The course uses clear waters of Kent Lake for swim segments. The bike courses follow paved, rolling roads through tree lined hills. The run returns toward a panoramic lakeside finish.
The event program lists seven competition formats and additional timed practice swims. Distances for the main competition formats include:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 24-mile bike, 6.2-mile run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 400 m swim, 12-mile bike, 1.5-mile run
- Olympic Aquabike: 1500 m swim, 24-mile bike
- Sprint Duathlon: 1.5-mile run, 12-mile bike, 3.1-mile run
- Olympic Relay: team entry for the Olympic Triathlon distance
- Sprint Relay: team entry for the Sprint Triathlon distance
