Island Games Qualifier - Jersey
The event is a selection triathlon held at Les Quennevais Sports Centre with pool swim, cycle, and run sections. Two formats are scheduled: a Sprint distance for adults and a Super Sprint for youth and under only.
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 19.5 km bike, 5 km run
- Super Sprint (Youth): 400 m swim, 9 km bike, 2.5 km run
The swim will take place in a pool; lane and wave allocation will be determined after final entry numbers are known. The cycle section is draft legal and restricted to road bikes; time trial bikes, aero bars, disc wheels, and aero helmets are not permitted. Each lap of the cycle circuit measures 1.5 km, with 13 laps for the Sprint and 6 laps for the Super Sprint. Athletes are responsible for counting their own laps and are encouraged to use a GPS device on the bike as evidence in any dispute. A camera is planned to record the cycle course for potential post-race verification.
Normal ITU race rules will apply, and rules will be applied strictly for team selection. Race numbers must be worn on the back during the cycle. Helmets must be on and fastened before removing a bike from the rack in T1 and must not be unfastened before racking the bike in T2. Towels are limited to a maximum square of 30 cm by 30 cm.
