Ironwood Challenge
The Ironwood Challenge is a trail running event set on about six hilly country miles through ancient woodland, fields and forest above the village of Long Ashton in North Somerset. The course covers mixed terrain and is often very muddy in sections. The route is fully marked and marshalled.
Chip timing is included. Off road shoes are strongly advised. An ARC permit has been applied for.
Facilities at race headquarters include limited free parking plus local street parking, a baggage store, first aid, and toilet facilities. Cake and tea or coffee are provided for all participants.
Entry information: the entry fee is £20, race places are limited to 250 and the minimum age is 18 years. On the day entries are likely but cannot be guaranteed. Entries may be transferred to another runner before the race but cannot be transferred to another race. No refunds will be given if a runner cannot participate.
Charitable giving: the organiser will donate £1 from every race entry to Long Ashton Nature and Environment Trust.
Awards: prizes are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall male and female, and to first place category winners for Senior male and female and for V 40, V 50, V 60, V 70 and V 80 male and female. One prize per person. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
