Ironwood Challenge
The Ironwood Challenge is a trail race of about six(ish) miles through ancient woodland, fields and forest above the village of Long Ashton in North Somerset. The course is mixed terrain and has historically been very muddy in sections. The route is fully marked and marshalled. Off-road shoes are advised. For the first year, chip timing will be included and an ARC permit has been applied for.
Facilities at the event include limited free parking plus local street parking, a baggage store, first aid, shower and toilet facilities, and free cake and tea or coffee for all participants. Organisers request consideration for local residents when using street parking.
Entry information: the entry fee is £20, the race is limited to 250 runners and the minimum age is 18 years. On-the-day entries may be available but cannot be guaranteed. Race entries may be transferred to another runner prior to the race but cannot be transferred to another race. No refunds will be given if a runner cannot participate on the day.
Nailsea Running Club will donate £1.00 from every race entry to Wellspring Counselling; Wellspring will be present at the event. Awards are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall male and female, plus first place category winners across standard age categories from Senior through V80, with one prize per person.
