The Essentia Health Iron Range Half Marathon takes place in Virginia, Minnesota on Fri August 14 - Sat August 15, 2026. The event includes the following distances:

The listed race location is 919 6th St S, Virginia, MN 55792. Participants meet at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia and buses transport runners to the Mesabi Trail headquarters in Eveleth. To receive a race t-shirt, registration must be completed by July 31.
Course and awards
The half marathon starts in Eveleth at the Mesabi Trail head and continues through the North woods, passing through Gilbert and into Virginia on the Mesabi Trail. The route includes the Thomas Rukavina Memorial bridge, described in the event material as the highest bridge in Minnesota, and finishes at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center (ITMEC). Official results and age division awards are based on chip time. Age divisions are: 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-99.
