About the race
The Irmo Okra Strut 5K is an inaugural community 5K Run/Walk held on September 26, 2026 in Irmo, South Carolina, at the Irmo Village Shopping Center (7571 St Andrews Road, Irmo, SC 29063). The event is presented as part of the community festival and parade.
The course is USATF certified and described as flat. Race timing is professional with chip timed results for participants. The route finishes at the Okra Strut parade area, with post-race refreshments and festival activities available at the finish.
Race registration carries a fee of $35. Registered participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt and a finisher medal for registrations made by September 8, 2026. Organizers also seek volunteers for the event; volunteers receive a complimentary t-shirt.
Awards are given by overall and age group categories. Top three overall male and female finishers will be recognized, and top three male and female finishers will be recognized in the age divisions 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+.
