Athletics Ireland Race Series | Irish Runner 5K Challenge 2026
The Irish Runner 5K is the opening race of the 2026 Athletics Ireland Race Series, scheduled for 16 May 2026 in Phoenix Park, Dublin. A permit has been approved for the event, certificate number 24/470.
The event is a chip-timed 5-kilometre race that also serves as the National 5K Championships. Race services listed by the organiser include on-course pacers, a finisher medal, and an optional event T-shirt. A free four-week training plan will be available from 20 April 2026.
Entry and logistics details provided by the organiser:
- Entries close on 15 May 2026 or when the event reaches capacity.
- Free postage for bib numbers and T-shirts is offered for entries made before midnight on 6 May 2026.
- Entries made after 7 May 2026 can collect race packs on the day.
- A series bundle is offered that covers three events in the series for a single fee covering the Irish Runner 5K, a 5 mile event, and a 10 mile event.
