Jameson Irish 5k
The Jameson Irish 5k is a festive running and walking event held in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The event is centered around Roosevelt Avenue and offers various participation options for athletes of different ages. Participants can choose between the following distances:
- 5 km Run or Walk
- 1 km Kids Leprechaun Run (approximately 1/4 mile)
- 5 km Virtual Race
The main 5 km course is open to both runners and walkers. For safety reasons, participants with strollers are required to start at the back of the field, and pets are not permitted on the course. The Kids Leprechaun Run is designed for children aged 12 and under, and parents are permitted to run alongside their children.
This race serves as the first leg of the Tour de Patrick, a three-race series that takes place in three different cities across Rhode Island during the month of March. Those who register for the full series receive specific items including race numbers, t-shirts, and socks at the initial packet pickup. Individuals completing all three events in the series are eligible for a finisher medal and a bonus gift.
The event includes a post-race gathering at a local bar featuring live music. Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers based on gun time, as well as winners in age categories ranging from under 19 to 70 and over.
