IRIS Run for Refugees

The IRIS Run for Refugees is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026, in New Haven, CT. The in-person event features a flat 5K course through the East Rock neighborhood. A virtual option allows participants to complete a 5K by running, walking, or biking in their own neighborhood or on a treadmill.

Registration and purpose

The event raises funds to support IRIS services for immigrants, including housing, healthcare, job placement, and education. The organizer notes that IRIS welcomed over 3,000 refugees, asylum seekers, and undocumented immigrants in 2025. Registration materials include a choice of a white long-sleeve tech shirt or a black short-sleeve shirt, distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Listed entry fees at the time of posting are $42.49 for the 5K, $38.32 for the 5K Student, and $42.49 for the Virtual 5K; prices increase after January 9, 2026.
