Event Overview
The Iowa Hope Run is a community event in its second decade that raises awareness and funds for brain tumor research, advocacy, and patient support. It takes place at Water Works Park in Des Moines, Iowa. The event welcomes participants of all ages and offers options for running, walking, fundraising, and volunteering.

Participants can choose from several distances:
- Kid's Fun Run: For ages 13 and under.
- Iowa Hope Run 2K
- Iowa Hope Run 5K

Location and Logistics
The event is held at Water Works Park, located at 2201 George Flagg Parkway in Des Moines. Participants enter the park from George Flagg Parkway for parking in a designated grass lot, with handicap-accessible spaces available.
Packet pickup is available in advance at Genesis Health Club on Merle Hay Road. On event day, packets are also available but with limited availability. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome at the event. Strollers and small bikes are permitted in the 2K Walk and 5K Run/Walk events.
Beneficiaries
Proceeds from the Iowa Hope Run benefit three organizations: Dragon Master Initiative, National Brain Tumor Society, and Children’s Cancer Connection. These groups focus on brain tumor research, awareness, advocacy, and family support.
Additional Information
All registered participants receive an official event T-shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. The 5K and 10.1K events feature chip timing. The event also offers sponsorship opportunities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
