Iowa Hope Run
The Iowa Hope Run is an annual community event held each May in Des Moines that raises awareness and support for people and families affected by brain tumors. The event is community-led and volunteer-driven, bringing together runners, walkers, families, and supporters to honor loved ones and support organizations that provide research, patient resources, and family services.

The race is hosted at Water Works Park with designated parking accessed from George Flagg Parkway and handicap-accessible parking options. Packet pickup is available at Merle Hay Mall on the Friday before the race; race-morning packet pickup is also offered but may have limited availability. The event offers a virtual registration option for a fee that includes an event T-shirt.
All participants receive an official event T-shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Participants in the 5K and 10.1K receive a bib with chip timing. Strollers and smaller bikes are permitted in the 2K Walk and 5K Run or Walk, with stroller and bike users advised to line up behind runners. Well-behaved leashed pets are allowed.
Proceeds from the Iowa Hope Run support nonprofit partners that provide brain tumor research, direct patient support, and family services. Volunteers help with packet pickup, race-day operations, and other event roles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
