Inverclyde Leisure Aquathlon : Gourock Outdoor Pool
The Inverclyde Leisure Aquathlon takes place on 23 August 2026 at Gourock Outdoor Pool and Fitness Gym. The event includes separate team, adult and junior aquathlon races with limited entry places and a closing date of 9 August 2026. Heat and lane positions will be emailed to participants by 21 August 2026.
Capacity and entry fees are published for each race. The team aquathlon allows 24 teams of two. The adult aquathlon has 150 places. The junior aquathlon has 30 places and is for 10 to 17 year olds. Entries operate on a first come first served basis while places remain available.
Race formats:
- Team Aquathlon: Half mile swim (24 lengths); 5 km run out and back to McInroy's Point.
- Adult Aquathlon: Half mile swim (24 lengths); 5 km run out and back to McInroy's Point.
- Junior Aquathlon: Quarter mile swim (12 lengths); 3 km run out and back to Gourock Yacht Club.
A 45 minute swim time cap applies; swimmers still in the pool at 45 minutes will be asked to leave the pool to allow the next heat to start. Junior athletes are restricted to ages 10 to 17.
