Inverclyde Leisure Triathlon

Inverclyde Leisure Sprint Distance Triathlon and Aquathlon Events

The event takes place on Sunday 23 August 2026 at Gourock Outdoor Pool and associated local roads. It is organised by Inverclyde Leisure and comprises a team triathlon, an individual sprint triathlon, an adult aquathlon, and a junior aquathlon. Entry places and standard fees are stated for each category, and entries close on Sunday 9 August 2026.

Event entries and capacities:

• Team triathlon: 24 teams, three participants per team.
• Individual triathlon: 150 individual places.
• Adult aquathlon: 30 places.
• Junior aquathlon: 30 places.

Course and format highlights:

• Swim distances are pool based with set lengths: half mile equals 24 lengths, quarter mile equals 12 lengths for juniors.
• Cycle and run courses use local roads and point to specified turn points near Bankfoot Roundabout, McInroy's Point, and Gourock Yacht Club before returning to Gourock Pool.
• Team and individual triathlon cycle distance is 10 miles and the run is 5 km. Junior run is 3 km.

Safety and event procedures:

• There is a 45 minute swim time cap; swimmers still in the pool at 45 minutes will be required to leave the pool and progress to the next phase.
• All cyclists must wear helmets during the cycle phase.
• Heat and lane allocations will be emailed to participants by Friday 21 August 2026.
