Inverclyde Leisure Aquathlon
The event takes place on Sunday 23rd August 2026 at Gourock Pool and nearby running routes. It combines pool swimming with road running in separate team, adult and junior races. Heat and lane positions will be emailed to participants by Friday 21st August 2026.
Key event formats and distances:
- Team and Adult Aquathlon: Half mile swim (24 lengths) and 5 km run from Gourock Pool to McInroy's Point and back
- Junior Aquathlon (ages 10–17): Quarter mile swim (12 lengths) and 3 km run from Gourock Pool to Gourock Yacht Club and back
Entry capacities are limited with specific places allocated for each race. The closing date for entries is Sunday 9th August 2026. Entry fees for the aquathlon events are listed by the organiser and include a reduced adult rate for Inverclyde Leisure One Life members; member status must be active at registration and on the event day to receive the discount.
A swim time cap of 45 minutes applies; swimmers still in the pool at that time will be asked to stop swimming and move on to the next phase to allow the next heat to start.
