Event Information
This is the 13th edition of the For Kids' Sake International Superhero 5K. It is a hybrid event, meaning participants can either join a timed in-person run or walk, or complete a virtual 5 km from anywhere.
Course and Format
The in-person event takes place at Turley Park in Carbondale, Illinois. The course is certified and uses chip timing. A virtual option allows participants to complete the distance anywhere and submit their results online.
Registration and Details
Pre-registration guarantees a t-shirt if completed by a specified date in early September. Adult registration costs $25, with a $15 fee for kids aged 17 and under. Race packet pickup is available at Turley Park on the Friday before the event, with a shipping option.
Charity and Prizes
All proceeds support children and families by providing basic necessities and education in Bangladesh, The Gambia, and Southern Illinois. Participants are encouraged to fundraise, with incentives like a Carhartt backpack for raising $350 or more. Awards are given for the fastest times and best superhero costumes at the in-person event.
