About the race
The For Kids' Sake International Superhero 5K is the 14th edition of a fundraising run and walk organized by For Kids' Sake International (FKSI). The event offers both in person and virtual participation and is based in Carbondale, Illinois at Turley Park, 1010 N. Glenview Drive. The advertised distance is 3.1 Miles.
Proceeds support programs that provide food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, education, and other opportunities for children and families in Southern Illinois, Bangladesh, and The Gambia. Registration fees are listed as $25 for adults and $15 for participants 17 and under. A fundraising challenge is offered with a noted reward for raising $350 or more.
Race logistics include a certified 5K course with chip timing for in person participants and an option for virtual participants to submit results online. Race packets are made available at Turley Park and virtual participants may be offered shipping.
