For Kids' Sake International Superhero 5K
The 14th For Kids' Sake International Superhero 5K Run/Walk takes place on September 19, 2026 at Turley Park, 1010 N. Glenview Drive, Carbondale, Illinois. The event offers an in-person option on a certified 3.1-mile course with chip timing by To The Finish and a virtual option to complete the distance from any location.
Registration opens June 10, 2026 and closes September 20, 2026. Fees are listed as Adults $25 and Kids (17 and under) $15. Pre-registration by September 7 is noted as the deadline to guarantee an event t-shirt. Packet pick-up is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Turley Park; shipping is available for virtual participants. T-shirts are available while supplies last.
Awards for in-person participants include 1st and 2nd place in five-year age divisions and prizes for top fundraisers, fastest times, best superhero costumes, best dressed pet, and other categories. The event includes a fundraising challenge where participants who raise $350 or more receive a special FKSI swag gift.
