Indigenous People's Day 5K in Tuscarora Nation, NY
The Indigenous People's Day 5K is scheduled for October 11, 2026 and is organized by the Tuscarora Rez Runners to promote health and outdoor activity. The event includes a timed 5K run and a non-timed 1 Mile Fun Walk.
- 5K Run on an out and back course along Mount Hope Road with the turnaround just past Greene Road.
- 1 Mile Fun Walk on an out and back route heading in the same direction as the 5K.
Both courses start and finish at the Tuscarora Nation House, 5226 Walmore Road, Lewiston, NY. Online registration is available through event day and listed entry fees apply; the first 100 registered participants will receive a goodie bag to be determined.
A post race celebration will be held at the Nation House and will include a home cooked breakfast, native music, crafts and other activities. Free parking is available at the Nation House with additional parking at Tuscarora Elementary School across the street.
Awards include custom trophies from Tuscarora Woodworks for the first overall male and female 5K finishers and medals for the top three male and female runners in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and older. Chip timing and real time results are provided by Race Management Solutions and race platforms, with finish line photos and downloadable finisher certificates available.
