Hornitos Run : March 15, 2026
The Hornitos Run is the 48th annual Indian Gulch Hornitos Run, hosted by the Merced Running Club in Hornitos, California. The event is set at Hornitos Central Park, 2884 Bear Valley Rd, Hornitos, CA 95325. It offers three road race distances:
- 2-mile
- 5-mile
- 10-mile
All three distances are out-and-back courses along Hornitos Road, running from the town of Hornitos toward Indian Gulch. Aid stations will be located at the turnarounds for the 5- and 10-mile courses. The 2-mile turnaround will be clearly marked.
Registration, race services, and awards
Pre-registration fee for each event is $40, which includes fees. Same-day registration is available for $50 and accepts cash and checks only. Packet pickup is held on race morning near the start line. T-shirts are provided to all pre-registrations and are available first-come, first-served to same-day registrants. Top finishers in each ten-year age group earn race-themed awards. “Golden Horseshoe” awards go to the first male and female finishers in each age division. The event is plastic-cup-less; participants are asked to bring their own cup or drinking bottle. Proceeds benefit the Mariposa High School Track Team, and additional donations are accepted. Walkers are welcome on the 2- and 5-mile courses; 10-mile participants should be prepared to run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
