Hornitos Run, March 15, 2026
The Hornitos Run is a road race held in Hornitos, California, hosted by the Merced Running Club as the Indian Gulch Hornitos Run. The course uses Hornitos Road for out and back routes that start near Hornitos Central Park and run toward Indian Gulch. The event offers these distances:
- 2-mile Race
- 5-mile Race
- 10-mile Race
Aid stations are provided at the turnarounds for the 5 and 10 mile routes, and the 2 mile turnaround is clearly marked. The event includes professional chipped timing, a continental breakfast, and t-shirts provided to pre-registered participants with additional shirts available first come first served for same-day registrants. Top finishers in each 10-year age division receive a Golden Horseshoe award for the first male and female finishers.
This is a plastic-cup-less event; participants should bring their own cups or bottles for water at aid stations. Walkers are welcome on the 2 and 5 mile courses, while 10 mile participants are expected to be prepared to run. Proceeds benefit the Mariposa High School Track Team, and additional donations can be made through the event website. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
