The Indian Creek Trail Runs is the 13th annual event in the Human Potential Running Series and the series' oldest official race, also known as the Fall Classic. The event is limited to a combined field of 225 runners and uses Indian Creek Campground in Sedalia, CO as the start and finish area.

Available distances

  • 50-Mile
  • 55k
  • 15-Mile
  • 5-Mile

Time limits are set by distance: 14 hours for the 50-Mile and 55k, and 12 hours for the 15-Mile and 5-Mile. The courses follow seldom used single-track trails through lower and upper montane ecosystems, passing lodgepole pine and aspen groves around 6,000 to 8,000 feet and lower montane areas near 5,000 feet with tall grasses and red rock features. Views include nearby city vistas, red rock formations similar to those at Red Rocks Amphitheater, and occasional glimpses of higher peaks.

Support and logistics include well stocked aid stations, gender specific race shirts, and unique finisher awards. Drop bags are allowed only at the Indian Creek Campground. Camping is offered with very limited space at a stated nightly fee and requires a reservation; tents and limited camper vans or rooftop tents are allowed, no trailers. Parking and crew access are limited and subject to event parking rules. One pacer is permitted for 50-Mile participants on the final loop with required waiver and pacer bib. Certain entrants may opt to drop down mid-race and still receive a finisher award and result for the shorter distance; no refunds are provided for distance changes. Weather can be highly variable including rain or snow. The event operates under required permits from local and federal land agencies.
