Course and environment
The courses use single-track trails through lower and upper montane Front Range ecosystems, including lodgepole pine, aspen groves, tall grasses, and red rock areas near 5,000-8,000 ft elevations. Views along the route include the nearby metro area, red rock formations, and occasional high peaks. Weather in mid-October is variable and can include rain, snow, wind, hail, or thunderstorms; typical averages cited are a high near 65°F and low near 35°F.
Logistics and rules
Start/finish are at Indian Creek Campground. There is a limited camping option through the organizer - $20 per night and reservation required; tents, limited camper vans, and rooftop tents only, no trailers. Parking is limited, must use designated areas, and fees may apply; vehicles with fewer than two registered runners may incur a parking charge. The 50-Mile allows one pacer on the final loop with requirements; crew access is restricted to the start/finish area only. Mid-race drop down options exist for the 50-Mile and 55k at specified points; no drop down for 5-Mile or 15-Mile.
