Indian Creek Trail Runs
The Indian Creek Trail Runs is an annual event held at the Indian Creek Campground in Sedalia, Colorado. Known as a "Fall Classic," the race takes place on single track trails within the Denver Metro area. The course traverses the lower and upper montane ecosystems of the Front Range, passing through lodgepole pine forests and aspen groves at elevations between 5,000 and 8,000 feet. Participants can view red rock formations similar to those at Red Rocks Amphitheater and see nearby 14ers from various points along the route.
The event offers several distances to accommodate a combined capacity of 225 runners:
- 50-Mile
- 55k
- 15-Mile
- 5-Mile
Time limits are set at 14 hours for the 50-Mile and 55k events, and 12 hours for the 15-Mile and 5-Mile events. For the two longest distances, a mid-race drop-down option is available. Runners starting the 55k may chose to finish at the 15-mile mark, while those in the 50-Mile may finish at the 55k mark to receive a finisher's award for that distance.
The race provides well-stocked aid stations and a gender-specific shirt and medal for participants. Due to limited parking at the venue, carpooling is encouraged; vehicles with fewer than two registered runners may be required to pay a parking fee. Limited camping for tents and small vans is available by reservation. As the event takes place in October, participants may encounter varied weather conditions including rain, snow, or sun.
