2026 GLIRC Icebreaker Marathon & Half Marathon
Event details
The event takes place on January 24, 2026 at Eisenhower Park Field 2, Parking Lot 2, East Meadow, NY 11554. Distances offered include:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 5K
- Virtual Marathon and Virtual Half Marathon (virtual window runs 1/24 - 2/1)
The course is certified and listed as a Boston Qualifier. It is a looped course on park paths and fully closed roads. The course includes water and nutrition stops and is set up to allow spectator access along the loop.
Amenities, rules and other information
Registered participants receive a long sleeve tech shirt and a finisher medal. Additional race services include live/text/email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for runners who register at least three weeks in advance. The marathon has a six hour cutoff. Registration fees are nonrefundable. Discounts are available for GLIRC members, veterans, and seniors. Virtual entries may not include a bib or race swag; virtual participants can upload times and photos between 1/24 and 2/1. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and the top three male and female masters. Beneficiaries for the event are GLIRC and Medals4Mettle.
