Hustle for Homes - 5K
Hustle for Homes is the first annual timed 5K run/walk held at the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard in Detroit. The entry location is at the northeast corner of Wilkins and Orleans, 3019 Orleans Street, Detroit, MI 48207.
The event supports Community & Home Supports (CHS) and fundraising for housing services in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. Strollers are welcome and will start with walkers, who will line up behind runners.
Registration opens February 1, 2026. Fee tiers listed by the organizer are Early Bird $35 through June 27, Standard $40 from June 28 to July 10, and Race Day $45; registration is online only. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations by June 27 and are available in adult and youth sizes. The first 250 registrants are guaranteed a custom 1st Annual Hustle for Homes medal.
The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and results will be posted live. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to first place male and female finishers in these age groups: 14 & Under, 15–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+.
The event site includes a Freight Yard beer and wine garden with an early opening request and is located near Eastern Market, the riverfront, and nearby restaurants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
