Hustle for Homes : Detroit
Hustle for Homes is presented as the 1st Annual timed 5K run/walk in Detroit benefitting Community & Home Supports (CHS). The event is based at the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard with an entrance at the NE corner of Wilkins and Orleans (3019 Orleans Street), Detroit, MI 48207. Strollers are welcome and will start with walkers, who will line up behind runners.
Proceeds support housing-related services across Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. Funds are designated for essential documentation (IDs, Social Security cards, birth certificates), move-in costs such as fees and deposits, and household necessities. The program description also lists daily supports like transportation passes and school supplies, plus counseling and wraparound services intended to promote long-term stability.
Registration information includes an early bird fee of $35 through June 27. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrants who sign up by June 27 in Adult and Youth sizes. The first 250 finishers are guaranteed a custom 1st Annual Hustle for Homes finishers medal. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to 1st place male and female in multiple age groups.
