Event overview
The Hurricane Hundred K is a 100K trail race and three-person relay held on Meeks Mountain Trails in Hurricane, West Virginia. The 2026 edition is the fifth running of the event and is presented by the City of Hurricane and the Dumont Tri County YMCA. The course totals about 62 miles and is run as six 10.3-mile single-track loops. Solo runners complete all six laps; relay teams consist of three runners who divide the six laps.
Course, logistics and awards
The course is entirely single-track with approximately 1,500 feet of climbing per loop (about 9,000 feet total). There are two aid stations: one at the start/finish and one mid-loop at about mile 5. Solo runners may use pacers for the final two loops. Race swag includes a zip-up jacket, finisher award, sponsor tote, and a Hurricane 100K belt buckle for solo finishers.
The event offers a total prize purse of $10,000 with awards for top male and female finishers and a separate $1,000 course record bonus for men and women. Relay rules require one timing chip per team, handoffs at the start/finish, and a coed team must have a female run at least two loops. Registration has tiered fees, is limited to 150 runners, and a multi-step refund schedule applies before September. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
