Hunger Coalition 5K : Lewisburg, PA
The Hunger Coalition 5K is a community road race held at The Miller Center for Recreation & Wellness, 120 Hardwood Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837. The event features a 5K (3.1 miles) running race that will be timed by Falcon Race Timing.
The race is organized as an initiative of the Union-Snyder Community Action Agency and is connected to the Union-Snyder Hunger Coalition. The coalition brings together community members and representatives from social service agencies, food pantries, and local schools to develop a coordinated approach to address food insecurity in the local area. Since 2020 the coalition has grown to a network of more than 100 representatives. As a network it coordinates meetings with stakeholder groups, communicates information about food resources, and organizes educational events.
Proceeds from the 5K will support the Hunger Coalition's year-round work addressing food insecurity by supporting local food access programs and funding awareness-building events.
