Hudson County’s Strides for Safety 5K
The Office of the Hudson County Executive presents the 5th annual Strides for Safety 5K to raise awareness about gun violence and to convene community organizations working on prevention and peacebuilding. The event is scheduled for September 19, 2026 in Lincoln Park, Jersey City, and features a USATF certified 5K course.
Participants receive a T shirt, a bib number, a light breakfast, refreshments, and a BBQ lunch included with registration. Walkers follow the runners shortly after the start. An after party near the finish includes an awards ceremony, musical entertainment, family activities, local safety community organizations, and health focused vendors offering yoga classes, smoothies, and massages.
Volunteer roles are available and include tasks such as registration and check in, distributing T shirts, assisting with breakfast, and supporting aid and water stations; volunteers are assigned duties when they arrive. Vendor participants will be provided a tent, table, and two chairs and should arrive early for setup. Check in for the event takes place next to the start line at the Westside Avenue and Belmont Park entrance and requires a registration form with the participant QR code.
