HPEF Back-to-School 5K
The Hoboken Public Education Foundation Back-to-School Community Run is scheduled for September 27, 2026 at Pier A, 100 Sinatra Drive, Hoboken, New Jersey. The event includes a Kids Fun Run, a 1 Mile run/walk and a timed 5K. The specific race route is to be determined.
Distances:
- Kids Fun Run: approximately 100 meters, open to children age 2 and older.
- 1 Mile Run/Walk: open to all ages along Sinatra Drive.
- 5K Run/Walk: timed event.
Registration details vary by event. Most registrations include a race t-shirt and race bib. A VIP registration option includes a t-shirt, bib and an additional donation to the Hoboken Public Education Foundation. Registrants who register before August 15 will be guaranteed a race shirt; organizers will make reasonable efforts to accommodate later entries through race day.
The Kids Fun Run requires an adult to be present with registered children and specifies guidance by age: ages 2 and 3 run with a parent, ages 4 and 5 may run with a parent, and ages 6 and up may run independently if able. The Kids Fun Run is recommended for children 10 and under.
All event proceeds will benefit the Hoboken Public School District. Awards will be presented to overall winners and for each age group. HPEF is a parent-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds programs to support the Hoboken Public School District. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
