Howl-o-ween 5k - Orlando
The Howl-o-ween 5k - Orlando is a themed running and walking event held at Harbor Park (Lake Baldwin) in Orlando, Florida. This event supports animal shelters and charities, including the Florida Giant Dog Rescue. Participants have the option to complete the course with or without a leashed pet.
The event features a single distance:
- 5 km
The 5 km course follows a scenic out-and-back route around Lake Baldwin. The race is professionally timed and scored by J3 Timing using chip-timed race bibs. While runners are welcome, the event also accommodates a large number of walkers. Strollers are permitted on the course, though participants should be aware of potential uneven ground.
All registered participants receive a short-sleeve t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a chip-timed bib. Live results are provided during the event, and free race photos are made available for participants afterward. The finish line includes treats intended for both human participants and dogs. Awards are presented to the overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 9 and under to 80 and over.
Parking is available at the site, and the organizers suggest carpooling. Registration is required for all human participants ages 3 and older, but dogs do not need to be registered to take part. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
