HOT-TO-GO (5 or 10 miles)
This is a themed running event in Hurn Forest, based at Hospital Services Cricket Club in Ringwood. The route follows a new, well maintained forest trail with hardstanding surfaces, so trail shoes are not essential. A pop music playlist will accompany the event and a themed medal is provided.
Distances offered:
- 5 miles: one lap (2.5 miles out and back)
- 10 miles: two laps (each 2.5 miles out and back)
An aid station named Run DMC will be at the start and finish of each lap, offering a range of sweet and savoury snacks and drinks, including fizzy pop. The event operates a cupless policy; participants are asked to bring their own cup or mug. Bag drop, toilets and hot drinks are available inside the cricket club; donations to the cricket club defibrillator fund are appreciated. The organiser is assisting the cricket club with fundraising for an on-site defibrillator and 20% of entry fees will be donated to Forestry England for forest and trail maintenance.
Minimum ages are 16 for the 5 mile event and 17 for the 10 mile event. Number pick-up takes place at race registration before the event and final instructions are sent by email. The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules. Entry prices are shown from £26 to £30. Parking near the start is limited; a public car park is available on Boundary Lane about 0.4 miles away. Nearest bus stop is St Leonard's Hospital; nearest train stations are Bournemouth and Branksome, both about 8.1 miles away. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
