HOT-TO-GO 5 or 10 miles
The HOT-TO-GO running event takes place in Hurn Forest, starting from the Hospital Services Cricket Club. Participants follow a route through forest trails on a course consisting of a 2.5 mile out and back lap. The event is licensed by the TRA and operates under UKA rules.
Participants can choose between two distances:
- 5 miles (one lap)
- 10 miles (two laps)
The track is described as well-maintained hardstanding, meaning trail shoes are not essential for the race. A cut-off time of 3 hours is in place for the event. Significant support is provided to the local environment, as 20% of entry fees are donated to Forestry England for the maintenance of national forests and trails.
The event hub at the cricket club includes toilets and a designated area for bag storage. An aid station located at the start and finish area provides a selection of sweet and savoury items. This is a cup-less event, so runners must bring their own containers for water and mugs for hot drinks.
The minimum age for the 5 mile event is 16 years, while the 10 mile event requires participants to be at least 17 years old. Race numbers are collected on the morning of the event at the registration desk. For transportation, the nearest bus stop is St. Leonard's Hospital, and a public car park is located 0.4 miles away on Boundary Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
