HOT-TO-GO (5 or 10 miles)
This event is a pop music–themed run through a new trail in Hurn Forest, starting and finishing at Hospital Services Cricket Club in Ringwood. The surface is described as hardstanding and well maintained, so trail shoes are not essential. A themed playlist and a commemorative medal are part of the event.
The course is a 2.5 mile out and back lap. Distances offered:
- 5 miles one lap on a 2.5 mile out and back course
- 10 miles two laps on a 2.5 mile out and back course
There is an aid station at the start/finish of each lap offering a range of sweet and savoury snacks and drinks, including fizzy pop. The event is cupless; organisers do not provide plastic cups. Bag drop, toilets, and hot drinks are available inside the cricket club; donations to the club’s defibrillator fund are welcomed and a collection box is located in the pavilion.
Minimum ages are 16 for the 5 mile event and 17 for the 10 mile event. Twenty percent of entry fees are allocated to Forestry England to support forest and trail maintenance. The event is licensed by the TRA and will be run under UKA rules. Parking near the venue is limited; a public car park is available on Boundary Lane approximately 0.4 miles away.
