Hot Cocoa 10K/5K Run and 1 Mile Events - Sylvania, OH
The Hot Cocoa Race is the 11th annual event sponsored by Sylvania Prevention Alliance, held on February 21, 2026, at Olander Park in Sylvania, Ohio. The event includes multiple distances and separate entries for children and adults. Proceeds support youth programs that promote healthy choices and the prevention of drug, alcohol and other at-risk behaviors.

The 1 mile events use a loop around Olander Lake and are timed for both kids and adults. The 5K course begins at the Nederhouser Community Building, follows park trails, crosses Sylvania Avenue through the Farmbrook neighborhood, uses the University Parks trail to McCord Road, returns to Olander and circles the lake to finish at the Nederhouser. The 10K follows the same route with an additional segment on the University Parks trail before rejoining the 5K course. Courses are open to traffic and are not closed roads. Maps are provided online and at packet pick-up. Hot cocoa and grab-and-go snacks will be available after the finish. Age-group awards are given after the races conclude.
