San Diego SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run
The San Diego SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run is a themed road race that finishes at Petco Park and routes through city landmarks. The event offers three distance options:
- 5K
- 10K
- 15K
Course highlights include Balboa Park, Golden Hill Park and neighborhood (on the 10K and 15K), East Village neighborhood (on all distances), the "Hi, Hello, Hola" mural, Fig Tree Garden, and Petco Park. The event includes a post-race party at Petco Park with music, vendors, photo opportunities, and a Chocoholic finisher’s mug served with chocolate fondue, dippables, and hot chocolate.
Registered participants receive a swag kit that includes a full-zip fleece and a finisher’s medal. The event provides free high-resolution race photos and emails race times to participants. Live runner tracking is available the week of the event.
A Hot Chocolate Expo and packet pick-up are held before race day; the expo is free and open to the public and is the location to collect runner kits unless the participant chose packet mailing. Packet mailing is offered for a fee and has a registration deadline. There is no race day packet pick-up.
The Ghirardelli Cocoa Club is an optional upgrade that includes premium Ghirardelli hot cocoa, a canvas tote with single serve cocoa, a store credit, VIP corral placement, access to a dedicated lounge area, and other onsite amenities.
Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance, and age group awards are presented for multiple age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
