Event Overview
The Skechers Hot Chocolate Run is a series of running events. The San Diego edition takes place on March 8, 2026 at Petco Park. Participants can choose between a 5K, 10K, or 15K distance. The event includes a professionally timed race and a post-race party.
Participant Kit and Perks
Registration includes an exclusive full-zip Skechers Hot Chocolate Run jacket and a finisher's medal. At the finish line, runners receive a mug filled with chocolate fondue, dippable snacks, and hot chocolate. Free, high-resolution race photos are provided to participants.
Course Information
The course passes by San Diego landmarks. The 10K and 15K routes go by Balboa Park and the Golden Hill Park neighborhood. The 5K course runs through the East Village neighborhood. All events start and finish at Petco Park. An interactive course map is available online.
Event Logistics
Packet pickup occurs at the San Diego Convention Center on the day before the race. There is no race day packet pickup, but participants can pay to have their packet mailed to them. The event encourages the use of public transportation or carpooling, as parking is limited. A gear check service is available starting 60 minutes before the race start.
Awards
Overall awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Age group awards are also presented across multiple categories.
