Horseshoe Hill Climb Trail Run
The Horseshoe Hill Climb takes place at Marmon Valley Farm in Zanesfield, Ohio. The event is held on a 500-acre property featuring a variety of terrain, including bridle trails, farm lanes, and open meadows. All routes are unpaved and consist of natural surfaces that may be muddy depending on weather conditions.
Participants can choose from three distinct trail running distances:
- 5K trail race
- 10K trail race
- 20K trail race composed of two laps of the 10K loop
The course layout leads runners through hardwood forests and up and down ravine trails. The paths navigate around open fields, across creeks, and along several scenic overlooks within the farm grounds. Each distance offers a different route through the landscape, though the 20K option utilizes a repeating loop format.
The event serves as a fundraiser to provide scholarships for children from economically challenged families to attend summer horse camp. Proceeds also support various operational needs of the farm's ministry. Registration includes a race shirt for those who sign up by the designated October deadline, though shirts are not guaranteed for later entries.
