Course details: the swim is in Lake Lemon with triangular laps and large buoys, monitored by about ten kayaks and one jetski. Bike courses are out and back on rolling roads in the Appalachian foothills; intersections will be traffic controlled by a private security company. The run follows rolling hills along Lake Lemon with approximately 65% newly paved road, 25% packed gravel, and 10% mowed grass. Aid stations are located in transition and on the run course about every three quarters of a mile. Helmets must meet CPSC standards and personal audio devices are prohibited.
Contingency plans cover unsafe swim or ride conditions and possible race format changes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
