Greene & Schultz Hoosier Half Marathon, 5K and 10K
The event takes place in Bloomington, Indiana on April 10, 2027, with Ivy Tech and the Monroe County Parks and Rec serving as the course base. The course uses sections of the Karst Park Greenway and reaches as far as Ellettsville on the half marathon route. Local organizations named as partners include Ivy Tech, Cook Medical, Simtra, and the Monroe County YMCA.
Course layouts:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) follows the Karst Park Greenway to Ellettsville then returns.
- 10K continues past the YMCA onto the Karst Park Greenway before reversing to Ivy Tech.
- 5K runs around Cook Medical and up to the NW YMCA, then back to Ivy Tech.
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run is an out-and-back for children 13 and under between Ivy Tech and the Cook Fountain.
Registration and fees: registration for the Half, 10K, and 5K opens 2026-10-22 and closes 2026-12-30; fees are $45, $35, and $25 respectively. The kids run has separate registration opening 2027-03-08 and a $5 fee. There is a pacer role for the half marathon with no registration fee; pacer registration requires answering an additional question.
Runners in the half marathon should be able to maintain a 16 minute per mile pace to stay ahead of road reopening schedules. Organizers state that this course is easier to secure and more cost effective than the previous campus and town route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
