Honor Run - YMCA - Marion, IN
The Honor Run returns to Matter Park in Marion on May 16, 2026. The event is hosted and promoted by the Grant County Family YMCA and is organized to honor the life and legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in military service and to show gratitude to those who continue to serve.
Originally founded by the Bowen family more than ten years ago, the event continues the spirit of the original Run for Freedom and emphasizes remembrance, gratitude, and community unity. Funds raised at the event support free YMCA memberships for active military personnel and provide financial scholarships for retired personnel.
Participants follow a course along the scenic Mississinewa River and may choose between a distance-based run or a short walk.
