Honey Brook Sweetwater Run
The Honey Brook Sweetwater Run is organized by the Honey Brook Community Partnership at the Lanchester Landfill and Reclamation Center (LLARC) in Narvon, PA. The event features a race course that uses reclaimed landscapes and multiple surface types.
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5K course follows paved surfaces, wooded trails, grassy paths, and segments of the Lanchester Nature Trail. The route starts near the facility entrance at about 875 ft elevation and includes a series of steady climbs and downhill sections. Two major climbs are described: a first climb rising from 919 ft to 1,056 ft through wooded and grassy terrain, and a final ascent from 1,020 ft to 1,156 ft on gravel roads that leads to an eastern overlook with views of the surrounding valley. After the overlook the course doubles back and offers a fast, mostly downhill return to the start.
The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run is on a mostly flat incline and is scheduled before the 5K so parents or older siblings can run beside children; an accompanying adult is required for children under 5 years. Race proceeds support local non-profit groups that provide food and emergency support services in the Honey Brook area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
