Hometown Half Marathon & 5k/10k - Des Moines
The Hometown Half Marathon - Des Moines is a local running event located at Trestle Trail on Euclid Avenue. The event features multiple distances to accommodate various preferences:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
- 5k (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile
- Kid's Dash (for ages 10 and under)
The Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k races are chip-timed with live results and awards. Participants in the Half Marathon have access to pacers throughout the course. The 1 Mile and Kid's Dash are untimed events. For the Kid's Dash, children may participate for free if they do not require the commemorative items.
Participants receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. To ensure a shirt in the correct size, registration must be completed by midnight on the Thursday ten days before the race. Free photos are provided to participants, and food is available at the finish line.
The event also offers a virtual race option. This allows participants to run at a location of their choosing while still receiving a digital bib, event shirt, and finisher medal by mail.
