HOH 5K Run/Walk/Roll
The HOH 5K is an annual community event held in Northbrook, Illinois. This event serves as the primary fundraiser for the District 28 Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund. The race is organized by the Northbrook District 28 PTO Council, with coordination from volunteers across Greenbriar, Meadowbrook, Westmoor, and Northbrook Junior High schools. All proceeds from the participation fees are directed toward the scholarship program.
The event features several participation options for different age groups:
- 3.1 Miles (5K) for adults over the age of 18.
- 3.1 Miles (5K) for children and youth between the ages of 5 and 18.
- Kids Fun Run specifically for participants aged 6 and under.
The 3.1 Mile course begins at Northbrook Junior High School. The race utilizes chip timing technology, which provides participants with instant results available immediately upon crossing the finish line. While strollers are permitted on the course, the organizers prohibit dogs, bicycles, and rollerblades to ensure safety. For the duration of the group start, the parking area behind the junior high school remains closed to vehicle traffic.
Participants also have the option to purchase official event merchandise, such as t-shirts, independently of race registration. The event brings together students, families, and local residents to support educational scholarships through physical activity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
