Event overview
The Braveheart CAC 4th Annual Superhero 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Baker Park in Kewanee, Illinois. The event raises awareness about child abuse, sexual assault, and mental health and benefits Braveheart Children's Advocacy Center, a not-for-profit that provides free services, therapy, medical support, and community education to child abuse victims. Braveheart CAC serves Henry, Bureau, Stark, Marshall, and Putnam counties.

The event includes an in-person 5K, a Kids Fun Run, and a virtual 5K option. Registration for the in-person and virtual 5K is $25; the Kids Fun Run is free. Registration includes a t-shirt for those who register by March 21, 2026. A community resource fair will be held before the 5K; the resource fair depends on participating community partners. The Kids Fun Run begins after the final 5K finisher has completed the course. Awards are given to all 5K participants, with special recognition for the overall top three finishers. Children in the fun run receive goodie bags. The 5K run/walk is a rain-or-shine event. Participants are encouraged to wear superhero costumes.
