Event details
Winter X is a trail-running event on Sunday 28 December 2025 at The Meon Hall, Meonstoke, Pound Ln, Southampton SO32 3NP. The event is organised by CHALK & MUD TRAIL RUNNING LTD and is to be held under UKA rules with a TRA licence pending (permit no. 6993). Entries opened 24 August 2025 and close 22 December 2025; there are 40 participants listed so far.
The event offers marked courses, marshal support, chip timing, an event t-shirt, fully stocked checkpoints, post-event food and drink, and an event memento. Courses follow public trails including the South Downs Way, with some short road sections. Courses will be marked and an up-to-date .gpx file will be available before the event. Dogs are not permitted on the route.
Course and entry information
The full 70 km course is made of four out-and-back legs from Meonstoke. Runners can choose from four distances:
- 10 km - North leg, flat on the old railway line to West Meon and back
- 30 km - North and East legs; East on South Downs Way to Sustainability Centre
- 50 km - North, East and West legs; West on South Downs Way to Holden Farm
- 70 km - Full course: North, East, West and South legs; South to Wickham via old railway line
Central kit access and a checkpoint are at Meon Hall. Additional checkpoints at Holden Farm, Sustainability Centre and Wickham. Age limits: 10 km 16+, 30 km 18+, 50/70 km 20+. Entry fees vary by distance and UKA membership. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
