Hippity Hop 5K : Lansing (April 4, 2026)
The Hippity Hop 5K takes place on April 4, 2026 at Potter Park Zoo, 1301 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912. The event marks the 10th anniversary of the race and includes in-person and virtual options. Registered participants receive same-day free entry to Potter Park Zoo.

Race details
The 5K is chip timed and follows a paved course along the Lansing River Trail near the zoo entrance. The course is stroller friendly. All in-person 5K participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher's medal. Overall, Master (over 40), and Grand Master (over 50) male and female awards are given, plus awards for the top two finishers in each age group; awards are issued only to attendees of the in-person event.
Packet pickup is available Friday, April 3 at the Tiger Den pavilion at Potter Park Zoo and on the morning of the event. A virtual option ships t-shirts and medals to participants who run or walk remotely on April 4.
Additional activities and charity
The event includes an Easter Egg Hunt and children's activities; children under 12 who register receive a bag, t-shirt, and a guaranteed minimum number of eggs. Proceeds support the Child Benefit Fund, which provides clothing, sports fees, emergency needs, and holiday gifts for children and families in Ingham County.
