Hip Hop 5K : Las Vegas
The Hip Hop 5K is a nonprofit event presented by Protect The Creatives Songwriters' Foundation that pairs a community run with music, wellness, and fundraising for songwriters. The event offers a structured program that includes packet pickup, an organized warm-up led by Orange Theory Fitness, a live hip-hop performance, a 5K run, a 1-mile awareness walk, and a post-race R&B recovery brunch with DJ accompaniment.
Course details note an out-and-back layout with the 5K run completed as two loops. Organizers will control traffic on major streets including Rafael Rivera Way and Tenaya Way and mark the route with volunteers and directional signage to guide participants.
On-course support includes a fully stocked water station, a finish-line aid station with water, electrolytes, and fruit snacks, and first aid available at aid stations. All finishers receive an official finisher medal and the overall first place finisher is awarded a pair of running shoes sponsored by Skechers. A Strava Run Club will offer community challenges and giveaways leading up to the event, including a shoe prize via a Strava challenge.
Free parking is available on site. Volunteers are recruited for roles such as race check-in, water stations, course marshals, and media support; volunteers who complete shifts are entered into a raffle for a chance to win a sponsored pair of shoes.
