Hingham July 4th Road Race 2026
The event takes place on July 4, 2026 in Hingham, MA, with the venue listed as 1103 Main Street. The course is a point to point route of 4.47 miles. It runs down historic Main Street and finishes beneath a large flag in front of a crowd. The course is described as mostly downhill with a few gradual uphill sections.
Timing uses disposable chips that are activated at the start mat and are attached to the bib number rather than recording gun time. The start area is organized into three sections based on runner pace: under 7 minutes per mile, 7 to 8 minutes per mile, and over 8 minutes per mile. There is an awards ceremony for the top male and female finisher.
Support services include three water stations, EMT services, and restrooms located at the start area only. Bus transportation is provided to the race start from Station Street near the Euro Mart parking lot, with return buses departing from South Street near the CVS parking lot to the Middle School.
For safety, pets, strollers, baby joggers, skateboards, and bikes are not allowed on the course, and unregistered runners will be diverted off the course. Registration and T-shirt pick-up occur in the days before the race at the Hingham Recreation Center, and on race day at Hingham Middle School.
