Hillsdale Firecracker 5K and Fun Run
The Hillsdale Firecracker 5K and Fun Run take place in Hillsdale, OK on Main Street in front of the Hillsdale Booster Club building on Independence Day weekend, and aim to build community spirit and support local improvements.
Event distances include:
- 5K - USATF certified mildly rolling 5K loop.
- Fun Run - separate community run held the same day.
The 5K course is a certified 5K loop described as mildly rolling. Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event at the Hillsdale Booster Club building on Main Street from 5 to 7 pm, and on the day of the events. Entry fees listed by the organizer are $30 for the 5K through July 2, $35 from July 2 through race day, and $15 for the Fun Run. Register by June 20 to guarantee an event shirt.
An awards ceremony follows the Fun Run. Awards include Best Dressed plus top three overall male and female finishers. Age-division awards are given three deep for Male and Female in the following divisions: Under 18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Overall winners are not eligible for age-division awards; awards must be picked up and will not be mailed. Timing is provided by Enid Running Club.
Food and fruit are available after the events with donations appreciated. Organizers reserve the right to disqualify entrants for unsportsmanlike conduct. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
