The Hillsborough YMCA Hop 5K takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Hillsborough, New Jersey. The event is organized from the Hillsborough YMCA at 19 East Mountain Road and finishes at the Hillsborough Municipal Building at 379 South Branch Road. The race has run for more than 25 years and supports the YMCA; proceeds and sponsor support contribute to the YMCA’s financial assistance programs. The event is listed as a USATF certified Grand Prix event on a net downhill course.

The on-site 5K starts at the YMCA and runs through neighborhood streets before finishing at the municipal building. Registered participants in both the in-person and virtual events receive a commemorative shirt and a bib. Virtual participants may log their 5K results on the event website to join the virtual race community.
Awards include top three finishers in male, female and nonbinary categories, and awards for top parent/child teams. Age groups include 8 and under, 9 to 11, 12 to 14, and five-year groups from 15 to 90+. The Hoppy Award is presented to the Hillsborough school with the largest number of participants on race day. Parent/child team finishing times are combined for team awards.
