Hill's Great Rover Road Run
Hill's Great Rover Road Run takes place on April 25, 2026 in Baton Rouge near the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine on Skip Bertman Drive. The event raises funds for the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital Good Samaritan Fund.
Event options include:
- 5K along the levee on River Road
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 0.2 Mile "Beat the Dean" walking race
The in-person 5K course runs along the levee across from the veterinary school. A separate 1 Mile Fun Run course is available and participants may enter both events. Pets are welcome to attend but must be on a leash and behave around people, pets, and children; organizers reserve the right to ask owners to leave if a pet does not meet these requirements.
The event features pet costume and trick contests and doorbuster prize drawings linked to social media posts. Organizers accept social posts on Facebook or Instagram as contest entries; participants with private profiles may be asked to provide screenshots for verification. Prize winners will be contacted by event representatives and doorbuster prizes are distributed by email.
Race check-in occurs the day before near the veterinary school entrance or on the morning of the event. Registration is accepted up until the start. Virtual participants may self-submit race times but those submissions are not eligible for race prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
