Hillingdon 20
Hillingdon 20 was established in 1933 as the Finchley 20 and is presented as the world’s oldest continuously contested 20 mile road race. The course follows well-marshalled roads of Ruislip and starts near Hillingdon Athletic Club’s clubhouse at Bury Street, Ruislip HA4 7TJ.
The event is a single 20 miles race with chip timing and medals for all finishers. Facilities at the clubhouse include toilets and showers, a secure baggage area and post-race home-made cakes and other refreshments. Professional medical support is available and there is support along the route. The course uses open roads and crosses junctions in places.
Cash prizes are allocated for first, second and third places in male and female categories and for first place in veteran categories. Prize amounts for the top three in each male and female category are 1st £150, 2nd £100, 3rd £50. Additional prizes of £50 apply for first male and female over 40 and for V50 and V60 category winners.
The event includes the Hertfordshire 20 mile Championships; eligibility requires either birth in Hertfordshire or residency for nine months, and this must be declared at registration. Entry is open only to those aged 18 and over on the race date. Listed entry fees are in the range £32 to £34.
