Event overview
Hill of a Race is part of the River's Edge Running Series, a not-for-profit series that donates net proceeds to Olive Tree Projects, which operates a maternity centre in Jacmel, Haiti. The race takes place on the groomed slopes of Rabbit Hill Snow Resort in Edmonton, AB (20715 57 Ave SW). Runners will use ski runs cleared of skiers and snowboarders during the event. The course is made up of repeated loops of approximately 2.5 km on groomed terrain. Extra traction under footwear may be required and walking poles are permitted. Aid station nourishment will be provided. All finishers receive handcrafted medals and all racers receive a voucher redeemable for a one day lift ticket for the 2026/2027 ski season at Rabbit Hill.
Race options and logistics
- 6-hour event - as many approx. 2.5 km laps as possible
- 10 km - four laps of the approx. 2.5 km course
- 5 km - two laps of the approx. 2.5 km course
Registration is available online only. Entry fees listed for the event are CA$120.16 for the 6-hour option, CA$87.96 for the 10 km option, and CA$66.49 for the 5 km option.
