High Point Sprint Triathlon and Youth Triathlon
The High Point Sprint Triathlon and Youth Triathlon takes place at Oak Hollow Lake and Oak Hollow Marina in High Point, North Carolina. This multisport event features several race formats including individual triathlons, relay options, and an aquabike category. The competition is part of the Trivium Multisport Series, allowing participants to earn points within the series.
Participants can choose from various event categories based on distance and age:
- Age Group/Collegiate/Clydesdale/Athena: 15.6 miles (500m swim, 11.9 mile bike, 3.1 mile run)
- Triathlon Relay: 15.81 miles (team of 2-3 people)
- Aquabike: 12.5 miles (500m swim and 11.9 mile bike)
- Youth Long Course (Ages 11-15): 7.6 miles (200yd swim, 6 mile bike, 1.5 mile run)
- Youth Short Course (Ages 7-10): 3.8 miles (100yd swim, 3 mile bike, 0.75 mile run)
Specific divisions are available for different weight and age requirements. The Athena category is for female participants with a minimum weight of 165 lbs, while the Clydesdale category is for male participants with a minimum weight of 220 lbs. A Masters Clydesdale division is also available for men aged 40 and over who meet the 220 lbs minimum.
The youth events take place separately from the adult races on a course designed with age-appropriate distances. All in-person participants must hold a USAT annual or one day membership.
